<p>You are already hyper-busy. Why might you want to find the time to come here? Here are a few reasons:</p>
<p>You will find sympathy, empathy and people from whom you can get advice. There’s enough unfair manager bashing around. Yes of course there are bad managers – we all know them. Most managers I know, myself included, were thrown in at the deep end into their first management position. Some learned very quickly about human behaviour, relying on their instincts. Others have nervous breakdowns.</p>
<p>A lot is known about management systems and practices that are associated with satisfying work and business benefits. Despite much talk about 21st century organisations, we can prevent a great deal of wheel-reinventing by building on what we know.</p>
